Pesticides Transfer Factors in Lemon Oil

Determination of the transfer factors for pesticide residues in Cold Pressed Lemon Oil (CPLO) and evaluation of the risks to the consumer from the intake of pesticide residues.

The Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed (SCoPAFF), Phytopharmaceuticals and Residues Section, meeting in Brussels on the 26th and 27th of February 2018 with the participation of representatives of the European Commission and the Member States, analyzed the AILIMPO study presented by the Spanish authorities. The proposal was discussed in point A30 of the agenda, concluding that, according to the data provided, transfer factors can be considered for 11 active substances.

On April 25, 2018, AECOSAN, the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition, under the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, published an information note on its website with details of the transfer factors applicable to cold-pressed lemon essential oil (CPLO).
