The production of VERNA lemon is estimated at 380,000 tonnes and will allow Spain to extend the season until August

AILIMPO’s third lemon harvest estimate (crop forecast) for the 2018/2019 season confirms the figures published in September, with an estimated total crop of 1,300,000 tonnes, with a slight increase in fino and recovery in volume in verna lemon, comparing to previous season.
During the second part of the season, active demand and a greater growth rate is expected for Fino lemon.
For Verna variety, Spain goes back to similar crop volume as of 2017 forecasting 380,000 tonnes. The forecast will allow Spain to consolidate its position as the undisputed top supplier in the European from April to August 2019, keeping an unquestionable leadership with high-quality lemon, health guarantee and excellent service.
Despite de global crop figure, the lower rate of harvesting up to January has led to lower processing activity.
